Mercury was commissioned by Forewind (a consortium consisting of RWE npower, Scottish and Southern Energy, StatOil and StatKraft) to support on communications and stakeholder engagement for the Dogger Bank project – a Round 3 offshore windfarm covering an area the size of North Yorkshire.
Our work involved engaging with all North Sea stakeholders ranging from MPs, MEPs, civil servants and government offices through to the military, international fishing organisations, environmental groups, oil, gas and offshore industries, ports and logistics companies, shipping companies and airlines. Since the project also includes connecting to the National Grid from the landfall site, we also worked to bring on board local authorities, the LEP, environmental groups and major land owners through the establishment of a community liaison group.
